MARCH 2022 UPDATE
Hello Artists!
Phew! That's March done already...time flies when you're having fun being creative!
Here's a little look back at what's happened in the studio over the last few weeks...
Our Level 3 learners were working with a life model in their classes - both drawing and sculpting. They had been working on portraiture previously so this month they were looking more at figurative work.
We even had the brilliant sculptor Mirek Brandejs come in to give his tips and expertise on sculpture to the students - as well as choosing his 'star sculptor' of the day (just for a bit of fun, Paul Hollywood style!)
On the Level 2 course, the module was 'Beautiful Decay'. The purpose of this project was to develop artwork that explores the concept of time, and the effects that time has on the world around us such as weathered surfaces, rust and lichen.
Each learner created a concertina sketchbook with design ideas, experimenting with techniques and mediums on the theme of the module.
Our Pottery for Beginners short course learners have been coming to the end of their 6 week course, finishing final projects and making use of the pottery wheels! They will have their ceramic work fired in our kiln, and ready to collect at a later date.
Our Absolute Beginners Guide to Painting course students have been working with oil paints - coming up to the end of their 6 week course. Over their time at AAE they have learnt about different tecnhiques and mediums as well as creating small paintings each week, applying their newly learned skills!
We have been absolutely LOVING the sunshine over the last couple of weeks! It always makes our studio so bright and sunny - it feels like spring really is in the air!
